Spenti vs MeowJot: two ways to read your Thai slips.
Both turn Thai bank slips into expense records. The important difference is what happens around that scan: Spenti is designed to do the work on your phone, while MeowJot’s published notice allows data to be stored and shared through the KBTG and KBank ecosystem.
What they have in common
Spenti and MeowJot both reduce the work of typing transactions from Thai bank slips. Both have Thai interfaces and run on iOS and Android. MeowJot is a KBTG product focused closely on e-slips: its store listing describes automatic reading from photo albums, and its supported-bank guide covers slips from a broad set of Thai banks and wallets. Spenti also reads PromptPay screenshots and paper receipts, then lets you correct uncertain fields before saving.
Where the receipt goes
Spenti processes the image on the device. Receipt images, extracted amounts and spending questions do not go to a Spenti server. The app needs an initial model download; after that, scanning and chat work offline. A Basic or Pro user can separately opt into backup to their own iCloud or Google Drive.
MeowJot does not disclose where its slip recognition runs, so we cannot responsibly call it either on-device or cloud OCR. Its privacy notice does say personal data may be stored on cloud systems, shared within KBTG and Kasikornbank group companies and with service providers, and retained for as long as ten years in some circumstances. That is broader than the data path Spenti describes.
Thai slips and paper receipts
If your spending record begins and ends with bank e-slips, MeowJot’s tight Thai-bank focus is useful. Its Gold plan also supports statement upload. Spenti covers Thai bank and PromptPay slips too, but also targets printed receipts, including merchant, total, date, currency and category extraction. Neither product should be treated as infallible: a sensible workflow still reviews a scanned transaction before it enters the ledger.
Account, backup, offline
Spenti has no account requirement. Your ledger stays on the phone unless you deliberately enable personal cloud backup, and core scanning works without a connection after the first download. MeowJot collects a phone number and its service is designed around cloud-connected features. Its published materials do not make the same offline promise, so “offline” is not documented rather than proved impossible. They also do not document a separate user-facing backup and restore mechanism; cloud-connected storage should not be assumed to provide one.

Who should pick which
Choose MeowJot if you want a KBTG-made product centered on Thai bank slips, want its supported-bank workflow, or need Gold statement upload and accept the data practices in its notice. Choose Spenti if paper receipts matter alongside slips, you want no account, or keeping recognition and spending chat on the device is the deciding factor. The choice is less about which mascot you prefer than which data path and workflow fit your life.
There is also a practical middle ground: try each app with the kinds of slips you actually receive and review the result before committing to a yearly plan. Recognition quality can vary with bank design, screenshot cropping and image quality, and the official sources do not support a fair universal accuracy ranking. The privacy difference, however, is documented and can be evaluated before installing.

How this was checked
We compared the products’ official store pages, MeowJot’s pricing and supported-bank pages, its privacy notice, and Spenti’s published product facts on 21 September 2026. We distinguish an undisclosed OCR location from evidence that data never leaves a device. If something has changed, send us a correction.
